Cleveland Medical Assisting Graduate Finds Hope After OCD
Jenifer
Shortridge has come a long way. Just four years ago, this graduate of our
Medical Assisting program at Cleveland Campus had all but given up on living a
“normal life” due to her debilitating daily struggles with Obsessive Compulsive
Disorder (OCD) since she was a youngster.

Cuts for Kids has provided thousands of back-to-school haircuts
Remington College is holding its third annual Cuts for Kids event
this summer. Students in Remington College
cosmetology programs across the country will provide complimentary back-to-school
haircuts for kids ages 17 and under.

are continuing their series of blood drives to recruit more minority
blood donors to benefit Cleveland-area residents in need of blood.

Criminal Justice Degree Instructor Shares 35 Years of Experience with Students
Mr. French started at Remington College in September 2006, just a year after the Criminal Justice program was introduced at the Campus. The program has benefited from his more than 35 years of experience, including positions as a juvenile and federal court probation officer, a supervisor and part of the Mayor of Cleveland’s Re-Entry Task Force at the Bureau of Prisons Halfway House in Cleveland, and a community resource specialist for the Northern District of Ohio’s Justice Department. He is also a U.S. Army veteran and former military police officer.

Who We Are: Mike Metcalf, Job Development Specialist
Mike assists in placing graduates of our technical and degree programs
at the Cleveland campuses. He comments, “I do Q&A’s with students
in class to talk about what’s going on in the marketplace and to learn
more about their goals and desires after they finish school. On the
outside, I call on and visit companies to develop and grow
relationships with them in the hope that they will hire our graduates.”

Resourcefulness of Cleveland East Pharmacy Tech Student and Her Instructor Is a Balm for Our U.S. Troops Abroad
John Rohal, Chairperson of the Pharmacy Technician diploma program at our Cleveland, Ohio college, delivered 400 tubes of lip balm
to Cleveland’s VFW Post 387 on Veterans Day, November 11, 2010. The
donation was accepted by Post 387 auxiliary chapter president, LeAnn
Christner.

Remington College sent more than 3,000 students back to school looking and feeling their best this summer. The career college provided complimentary back to school hair cuts at the thirteen Remington College campuses with cosmetology departments.

Giving Back: Cleveland Campus Helps Displaced Workers
On May 16 and 23, 2009,
instructor Gordie Dodson, from Remington College – Cleveland Campus,
partnered with a team from the Nordonia Hills YMCA and the Church of
the Hills, in Northfield, Ohio, to help give displaced local workers a
chance to revisit and enhance their job-hunting skills.

offered haircuts at no cost to children aged 17 and under, along with
cuts, shampoos, styles, hair coloring, and other services to adults at
half the regular price.

Cleveland, OH – (July 31, 2009) – Remington College-Cleveland Campus will hold an open house on August 8th to allow community members to see what the campus has to offer.
From 10 am to 2 pm, the public can tour the campus, meet instructors, view hands-on demonstrations and learn more about financial aid available for those who qualify.

Remington College-Cleveland Campus Helps Displaced Workers Improve Job Seeking Skills
Cleveland, OH – May 6, 2009 – Instructors at Remington College-Cleveland Campus are providing displaced workers an opportunity to improve their job hunting skills in order to try and get back into the workforce through a new initiative called Step to Hope.
