  • Baton Rouge Criminal Justice School That Offers a Diverse, Career-Focused Curriculum

    As a student in our criminal justice degree program, you’ll have a chance to take an active role in the learning process to help you decide which direction you may want to take in your criminal justice career.(1) For example, you can study fingerprint analysis and blood spatter detection in our dedicated criminal justice labs, along with participating in mock trials in our on-campus courtroom.

    Our coursework includes instruction and hands-on learning in crime scene analysis, evidence handling, criminal prosecution and trials, and inmate control. We also offer courses in constitutional law, criminology, and forensic science.

    Learn the Baton Rouge Criminal Justice System from Seasoned Professionals

    The instructors in our Baton Rouge criminal justice school have years of on-the-job experience with the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office and the East Baton Rouge Coroner’s Office.

    To help you see and understand how you may apply your criminal justice career training in the real world, our instructors plan about three field trips every other quarter to various locations such as:

    • East and West Baton Rouge Parish courts
    • Louisiana State Police Crime Lab
    • Louisiana State Penitentiary (Angola)
    • Elayn Hunt Correctional Center

    You may also have several opportunities to learn first-hand from guest speakers, including representatives from the East Baton Rouge Crime Scene Investigation Department, the West Baton Rouge Coroner’s Office, the Narcotics Division of the local Baton Rouge Police Department, and more.
