Our Baton Rouge cosmetology school features three classrooms plus a clinic floor, known as our student salon. The salon setting includes 28 chairs/workstations, three pedicure spas, five manicure tables, and two facial rooms.

How the Remington College School of Cosmetology in Baton Rouge Works:

As a student in our 12-month Cosmetology training program, you assume various roles as you learn the business aspects of running a salon.(2)

Once you acquire the fundamental skills, you also get to practice on actual student salon clients, offering services like haircuts, permanent waves, quick weaves, chemical relaxers, braiding, up-do's, hair coloring, facials, eyebrow waxing, eyelashes, acrylic nails and nail art, pedicures, and manicures.

You’ll work with tools and equipment like shears, blow dryers, flat irons and thermal irons, clippers, outliners, steam sterilizers, manicure warmers, UV nail dryers, and so much more.

You’ll get to use a variety of industry-standard product brands, like these:

    • Matrix®
    • Christine Ashley® and Marianna Industries®
    • Design Essentials®
    • Queen Helene®
    • Andis®
    • OPI®
    • Pevonia®
    • LA-Roux®
    • And more!

You can also earn recognition based on grades, the most client bookings in the student salon, and more, earn certifications from brand providers like Pevonia and Matrix, and get ready to take your state board exam to earn your cosmetology license.(1)

And when you graduate, you’ll leave us with a Cosmetology kit valued at $2,000 – included in the cost of your tuition! The kit equips you with many of the tools you’ll need to make a splash as an entry-level cosmetology professional.(1)

Baton Rouge Cosmetology School Community Connections

Our Baton Rouge Cosmetology students have taken supervised class field trips and have heard from a variety of guest speakers, all of which have helped them gain valuable insights on today’s beauty industry.

Our students also enter local competitions like hair shows and fashion shows, doing hair, up-do’s, make-up, nails, and nail art designs. These events, whether on or off Campus, give our students opportunities to showcase their learned skills, gain valuable feedback, and even earn awards.

In addition, our students believe in giving back to the greater Baton Rouge community, through efforts like these:

    • Volunteering once a month at a local nursing home to offer residents haircuts, manicures and pedicures.
    • Taking part in our Cuts for Kids initiative and in Prom Night Makeovers.
    • Shampooing and styling wigs that will be worn by cancer patients who are undergoing chemotherapy and have lost their hair.
    • Inviting teachers in the surrounding area to the Campus for a special day of pampering.
