Pharmacy Tech Training and Equipment at Baton Rouge
Our Baton Rouge Pharmacy Technician training program has two dedicated classrooms and a lab complete with industry-standard equipment and tools.
- As a student in our Pharmacy Tech program, you begin by studying the language of pharmacology, the basics of a pharmaceutical practice, and how to calculate doses.
- You’ll move on to working with a full-size human skeletal structure, smaller-sized models of various organs, and continually updated DVDs featuring anatomical systems so that you can study the basics of anatomy and physiology.
- Later pharmacology projects include studies of pharmaceutical law and ethics, the chemical composition of drugs, and their history and side effects.
- Beginning in your fourth module, you’ll get a chance to work in the lab environment and take part in hands-on projects like measuring, compounding, and mixing products to practice your skills.
- In your seventh module of your program, you get to review what you’ve studied.(2) The review process helps you to realize how much knowledge you’ve gained and lets you feel more confident in your abilities as a future pharmacy technician.(1)
- Finally, during your last module, our externship program puts you in a real-life work setting, where you can apply your skills on the job, working side by side with professionals in the field.(3)
