Facilities and Equipment at Shreveport Business Training School

Modern equipment and technologies are used in our Shreveport business program, including: 

• Microsoft automated accounting software/basic bookkeeping principles.
• Business payroll administration and applications.
• Business law and legal procedures.
• Basic and advanced Microsoft Office 2010 applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).

Six classrooms and labs on Campus are dedicated to our Business Office Management program, and a computer is readily available for each student during and after class.

Our dedication to offering quality training shows, as at least 85 percent of Shreveport’s current Business Office Management associate’s degree students have been inducted into the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS).

Shreveport Business Program Activities and Community Outreach

Our students have opportunities to network with their community and establish relationships that may last after graduation.

Ways Our Shreveport Business Program Connects with the Community: 

• As a charter chapter with DECA, our Business Office Management Department has hosted events for our soldiers, breast cancer awareness activities, and more.
• Plans are also in place for our Shreveport DECA chapter to start a debate team so that business students can develop their teamwork, public-speaking, and decision-making skills while they participate in extracurricular events in their area of study.
• Students in our Shreveport business training program have taken several field trips to hear local business owners lecture about how to run a successful business and to mixers to interact with potential employers.⁽¹⁾ 
• Our Shreveport college also invites guest speakers to speak with students in our business program at least once or twice each month. These business leaders come from a wide variety of businesses and industries in Caddo and Bossier Parishes.

As CPAs, business owners, and MBA-degreed individuals, all of our instructors have working backgrounds in business, so they know the field and take a practical, hands-on approach to give students the foundation they need to be successful once they graduate.⁽¹⁾

Our instructors are not only teaching business skills, they’re teaching life skills like communication, psychology, résumé and interview preparation, and so much more. And our students’ demand for this type of training is evident, as the program currently has a 95 percent attendance rate for our day and evening classes.
