    Remington College's “Adopt Our School” Program Benefits Public Schools

    At Remington College, we put a premium on making sure we have modern facilities and well-equipped classrooms and labs, and we know that it is a struggle for many public schools in our campus communities. That's why Remington College donated $2,000 in school supplies to one public school in each area we have a campus. Parents, teachers, faculty and staff of schools vote for the winner and the children benefit!

  • Camden Elementary School of the Creative Arts wins Remington College “Adopt Our School” Vote

    School to receive $2,000 worth of new musical instruments at April 19 presentation

    The votes are in and Camden Elementary School of the Creative Arts will receive $2,000 worth of musical instruments from Remington College - Columbia Campus.

    Camden Elementary School of the Creative Arts received the most votes in Remington College’s Adopt Our School program, an effort by Remington College to assist local public schools with up to $2,000 worth of school supplies. Nominations and voting were done online by the public.

    The staff at Camden Elementary School of the Creative Arts has requested musical instruments. A xylophone and several other brand new instruments will be presented to students and staff on Monday, April 19 at 11:30 a.m. Media is invited to cover the event and see the kids try out the new instruments. The school is located at 1304 Lyttleton Street in Camden.

    “We congratulate Camden Elementary School of the Creative Arts and can’t wait to deliver the items,” said Toby Hayes, Remington College-Columbia Campus President. “We know our local public schools budgets are very tight and hope this will be a big boost to the students and faculty.”

    “I would like to thank Remington College for giving local schools the chance to win $2,000,”said Robert Yount, Principal at Camden Elementary School of the Creative Arts. “This money will allow us to purchase supplies for our music department that have only been a dream until now.”

    Remington College - Columbia Campus will hold another Adopt Our School competition in the fall, with another $2,000 worth of school supplies for the winning school.

    The Adopt Our School program is part of “Remington College Reaches Out,” a series of community initiatives and charitable efforts to mark the college’s 25th anniversary in 2010.
