Giving Back: Cleveland West Campus Participates in Holiday “Adopt a Resident” Program
The spirit of giving was in abundant display among our Remington College Cleveland West Campus community this past December, as several staff members and students participated in the holiday season’s “Adopt a Resident” program at Malachi House, in Cleveland, Ohio.
Founded in 1988, Malachi House cares for terminally ill in the Cleveland area who have no caregiver or no available funds to pay for care.
The organization’s mission is to preserve human dignity for individuals who would otherwise be faced with spending their final stages of life alone or abandoned. It is supported by donations only.
With the help of our Cleveland West Campus staff and students, more than 60 gifts were collected for Malachi House residents. The gifts were purchased based on each resident’s profile and the suggestions given.
Under the coordination of Beth Dawson, several Campus representatives and students delivered the gifts on Friday, December 18, 2009, and helped to commemorate the holiday season in person with the residents.
Campus Receptionist Cassie Anderson commented, “The response to the Adopt a Resident program at our Campus was overwhelming. It was really a heartfelt and touching example of the difference we can make.
For residents living at the Malachi House, this will be their last holiday season. Our sincere thanks to everyone who contributed to make those residents’ holidays so special.”
