West Cleveland Pharmacy Tech Training Program
Our Pharmacy Technician program in Cleveland/North Olmsted features classrooms, a mock pharmacy lab, and several computer labs. You begin your training in our mock pharmacy setting on your first day in class.
Our lab has been set up to look and operate in the same way as a retail/hospital pharmacy. In the lab, you can gain an understanding of the day-to-day workflow of a pharmacy, and you’ll be assigned positions just as you would on the job.(1)
In essence, you’ll have the chance to play the role of pharmacy technician in our lab while you study the intricacies of the field in the classroom.
You’ll also get to work with a variety of real and placebo chemicals or compounding agents, software like Script Assist, and industry equipment like:
- Laminar flow hoods
- Calibrated scales
- Stirrers and heaters
- Dosage carts
- Capsule and ointment tube compounders
- And much more.
In fact, some of our past classes have used those items to make products like lip balm and candles to sell to staff, faculty, classmates, and others outside the Campus. The proceeds were given to local charities like the Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital.
