Remington College Partners with 9Health Fair to Host Southern Colorado Health Fair

April 20th event will provide free or low-cost health screenings

Colorado Springs, Colo. – April 6, 2009 – Colorado Springs residents can get access to more than 20 critical health screenings at the 9Health Fair, hosted by
Remington College® on April 20th.  

From 8:00 am to noon, the public can take advantage of a variety of health screenings that are provided for free or at low-cost.

Health screenings include:
•    Blood chemistry                                 
•    Blood cell count
•    Prostatic Specific Antigen
•    Blood pressure and pulse
•    Vision
•    Hearing
•    Mental health
•    Osteoporosis
•    Lung function
•    Body fat
•    Finger stick glucose
•    Eye health
•    Talk with a health professional
•    Ask a pharmacist

Participant requirements:
•    Must be 18 years of age or older
•    Do not eat at least 12 hours before having blood drawn
•    Diabetics should not fast
•    Drink plenty of water before having blood drawn
•    Continue taking prescribed medications

This is the second year that the Remington College- Colorado Springs Campus has hosted a 9Health Fair. Remington College offers diploma programs in the growing medical field, including Medical Assisting and Pharmacy Technician.   

This is the 30th year of the 9Health Fair, Colorado’s largest non-profit, volunteer-driven health fair. It has earned the endorsements of the Colorado Medical Society, Colorado Nurses Association and the Colorado Hospital Association.
