Diploma program trains students for health information coding jobs
Colorado Springs, CO – (September 22, 2009) - Remington College-Colorado Springs Campus is enrolling students for its new Medical Insurance and Coding Diploma program.
The program is designed to help prepare students for entry-level jobs as insurance coders or medical coders in private physicians’ offices, clinics, hospital clerical departments and other medical facilities. The program can be completed in as few as 9 months.*
The Medical Insurance and Coding program covers a variety of topics, including:
- Medical billing systems
- Fundamentals of anatomy and physiology
- HIPAA regulations
- Medical terminology
“The Medical Insurance and Coding program may be a good option for people who are detail-oriented and are interested in training for a career in health care that doesn’t involve blood or needles,” said Shirley McCray, Remington College-Colorado Springs Campus President.
A career as a medical coder or insurance coder are among the few jobs in the health care field with little direct patient contact.
In addition to the Medical Insurance and Coding Program, Remington College-Colorado Springs Campus also offers an associate’s and bachelor’s degree program in Criminal Justice and diploma programs in Medical Assisting and Pharmacy Technician.
