  • Colorado Springs Pharmacy Technician School

Since opening our Pharmacy Technician school program at Colorado Springs in August 2003, our strong ties to the local pharmaceutical community have made both our program and our graduates well recognized in El Paso County.

As our student, you can study for the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) exam to become a certified pharmacy technician (CPhT), and train to work in a pharmacy, compounding, or clean-room setting – all in as few as eight months!(1)

  • Colorado Springs Pharmacy Tech Classrooms and Equipment

At our Colorado Springs Campus, our mock pharmacy has a compounding lab, a sterile lab, and a retail pharmacy lab in one room, allowing for ease of access and use.

The shelves in the lab look like actual pharmacy shelves, so you can learn how to translate and fill mock prescriptions, keep an inventory, and organize and set up stations as you would in a real pharmacy.

During your pharmacy studies, you’ll receive training in the fundamentals of:

    • Anatomy and physiology.
    • Prescription interpretation.
    • Pharmacology.
    • Dosage calculation, measuring, and mixing.
    • Ethics and legal case studies.
    • And more.

You’ll also learn to work with chemicals or compounding agents as simple as sugar, salt, and cornstarch and as complex as bentonite, methylparaben (a preservative), citric acid, and many similar elements.
