Columbia Pharmacy Tech Facilities and Equipment
The Pharmacy Technician program at our Campus in Columbia, South Carolina, features modern classrooms and labs, with one lab dedicated expressly to Pharmacy Tech training. Students’ time in the lab begins early in the program.
Our pharmacy students study and work with various tools of the trade, including the following:
- Computers
- Label makers
- Hot plates, beakers, and stirring rods
- Thermometers
- Scales and weigh boats
- Measuring cups
- And much more
They also work with a variety of solutions like these in their hands-on lab projects, as they learn how to formulate various pharmaceutical solutions and compounds:
- Cocoa butter
- Almond oil
- Lavender oil
- Beeswax
- Shea butter
- Vitamin E

Community and In-Class Activities at our Midlands Pharmacy Technician School
In-class activities are plentiful at our Columbia Campus. If you’re anything like our current students, the compounding classes will stand out, and creating lip balm will be one of your favorite lab projects. You may also enjoy a variety of other hands-on activities like preparing IV bags and reconstituting powders.
Our Campus in Columbia has set up externship sites at several locations including local Target stores and the Free Medical Clinic.(2)
Our program has also featured guest speakers from a local CVS Pharmacy, and an outside representative has even helped our students practice their job interviewing skills.
