Cosmetology School Covers Skin Care, Hair Care and Nail Care

Remington College is holding its third annual Cuts for Kids event this summer. Students in Remington College cosmetology programs across the country will provide complimentary back-to-school haircuts for kids ages 17 and under.

 Cosmetology students at Remington College – Columbia Campus recently put their hard work on display, creating a “Princess Wonderland” themed fashion show at the Dutch Square Mall in Columbia, South Carolina, on April 15, 2011.  

Flat irons, hair spray, and make-up took center stage as the students in our Cosmetology II classes at our Campus in Webster, Texas, held their first-ever “America’s Next Top Model” competition on May 20, 2011. 

On Saturday, May 21, 2011, 26 students in the Cosmetology Program at our Remington College – Houston Southeast Campus participated in the Armstrong-McCall Hair and Make-Up Show, held at Moody Gardens in Galveston, Texas. Our students enjoyed themselves and gained valuable experience in styling, modeling, retailing, and applying make-up for Matrix, the show’s sponsor....

We are pleased to announce that two Cosmetology students from Remington College – Houston Southeast Campus advanced to the sixth and seventh rounds, respectively, of this year’s Junior Style Stars competition, in the bridal hairstyle category....

Congratulations to the students in our Memphis Campus Cosmetology Program for continuing their winning ways!  Their latest accomplishment? Earning an impressive four trophies in the River City Hair Designers “HairBiz Student Competition” on March 28, 2011! The competition took place at Agricenter International in Memphis.

According to the official website, the Junior Style Stars competition is held “for the enhancement of careers in the cosmetology field.” This is accomplished by “providing a platform for the future hairstylists to develop their artistic skills, as each participant competes on the identical mannequin and receives the same photography.”

The Honolulu Cosmetology School - Paul Brown Institute at Remington College - will be hosting a Locks of Love event to help raise hair donations.

On January 21, 2011, 10 Cosmetology students from our Mobile, Alabama Campus offered complimentary haircutting and styling services to 10 women in need as part of a “Day of Beauty” outreach effort coordinated by Cosmetology Chair LaKeyshia Mauldin and Pastor Lonnie Honeycutt, of Haven of Hope, part of Mobile’s 99 for 1 Ministries...

Need a haircut in a hurry? Ivan Zoot’s your man. Referred to as “ClipperGuy” and the “Michael Phelps of Barbering,” Mr. Zoot set three individual haircutting world records on August 22 and 23, 2008, for fastest haircut (55 seconds), most haircuts in a single hour (34), and most consecutive haircuts in 24 hours (340).

Remington College congratulates Ms. Nina Williams on her selection as "Diploma Graduate of the Quarter" for the first quarter of 2010. Ms. Williams received her Cosmetology diploma in January 2010 and has already made her mark in the cosmetology field....

Remington College-Cleveland Campus is offering $5 hair cuts to raise money for the Susan G. Komen Foundation. The program is called Cuts for Cause and will run from Tuesday, October 26 through Saturday October 30.

Remington College-Baton Rouge Campus is offering $5 hair cuts to raise money for the Susan G. Komen Foundation. The program is called Cuts for Cause and will run from Monday, October 4 through Friday October 8.

Remington College sent more than 3,000 students back to school looking and feeling their best this summer. The career college provided complimentary back to school hair cuts at the thirteen Remington College campuses with cosmetology departments.

Remington College will offer complimentary back-to-school haircuts for children this summer. The annual Cuts for Kids event will take place on 11 Remington College campuses with cosmetology programs.

Instructors and students in Remington College Cosmetology Programs provided complimentary services salon services for high school students during the height of the prom season. A total of 845 complimentary Prom Night Makeover services were provided.

Mobile, Ala. – (July 9, 2010) - Remington College-Mobile Campus will hold an open house for its new Remington College School of Cosmetology on Monday, July 12 from noon to 2 p.m. The public is invited to tour the salon, manicure/pedicure/facial areas and the classrooms. Instructors and students will be on hand to talk about the program.

As a cosmetology student at Remington College – Fort Worth Campus, Chakina Watkins had the goal of one day opening her own salon. Ms. Watkins wasted little time in achieving her goal, graduating with her diploma in September 2009 and opening her own salon just a week later.*

May 23, 2009, was an evening that 19 Texas City High School girls may remember for some time: not only because it was prom night, but also because of the makeovers they received courtesy of Cosmetology students and instructors at Remington College – Houston Southeast Campus.

Remington College – Houston Southeast Campus is partnering with the Assistance League of the Bay Area (“ALBA”) and their “Operation Cinderella” Program to make sure disadvantaged high school students look their best on prom night.

A September 14 photo shoot to prepare advertising materials for the Paul Brown Institute at Remington College turned out to be a valuable hands-on experience for our Cosmetology students at Remington College – Honolulu Campus.

Congratulations to all of the Remington College campuses participating in our August 2009 “Cuts for Kids” promotion, which offered haircuts at no cost to children aged 17 and under, along with cuts, shampoos, styles, hair coloring, and other services to adults at half the regular price.

On November 25, 2009, two instructors and 18 students from our Dallas Campus Cosmetology Program offered free shampoos and haircuts to the homeless attending a Thanksgiving luncheon in the Oak Cliff area of Dallas. This gathering, sponsored by the Homeless Advocates of Texas (HAT), was held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Temple of God Church, 3200 S. Ramona Ave., in Dallas.

As part of our ongoing commitment to assist communities and people in need, all Remington College campuses that offer a Cosmetology Program are pleased to announce their participation as official Locks of Love donation centers.

Tampa, FL – (January 22, 2010) - Remington College–Tampa Campus is adding evening classes as an option for students in its Cosmetology Diploma Program . Classes in the evening program will be held Monday-Thursday from 5:30 pm to 10:00 pm and Saturdays from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.
