  • Cosmetology Training at Our Dallas College Campus

Five classrooms are dedicated to our 12-month diploma program, in addition to our on-Campus student salon.(1)

Students train to work with industry-standard tools, equipment, and product lines including Matrix® and Design Essentials® hair products, OPI® nail products, Pevonia® skin care products, and OFRA® make-up.

    In the Dallas Student Salon:

Students can work with clients in our student salon after they’ve learned the fundamentals and have completed 375 hours of training. The environment accommodates 20 to 30 students at a time, who are supervised by instructors.

Students learn to work every position, including front desk, dispensary, manicure, pedicure, skin care, and hair, providing services including facials, haircuts, shampoos, and sets, sculptured and gel nails, and so much more!

In return for their hard work, students can earn honors like making the dean’s list or honor roll, as well as awards for perfect attendance, the highest number of retail sales, and service excellence for booking the most clients.

For our customers, the student salon environment is stimulating, soothing, and relaxing. Our modern, fully equipped student salon includes:

    • 23 hair stations.
    • Four pedicure spa stations featuring vibrating chairs and water and air jets.
    • Four well-lit, well-ventilated manicure stations.
    • A separate facial room featuring two beds, steamers, and related skin-care machines.

    Metroplex-Area Community Involvement

Our Dallas Cosmetology school program believes in enriching their students’ learning experience through activities like these:

    • Hosting guest speakers from area salons and product suppliers, who give our students insight into the real world of cosmetology as well as opportunities for product-specific certifications.
    • Visiting a variety of salons to get a first-hand look at various work environments, or the Derma Institute to learn more about skin care products and procedures.
    • Providing volunteer services to places like Buckner Women and Family Services, Nexus Drug and Rehab Centers, orphanages, and shelters in our area whenever we hear of a need.
    • Taking regular field trips in the Dallas area to compete in hair shows and competitions.
      • In fact, our Dallas Cosmetology students won the 2011 Texas International Beauty Show in the Cosmetology school division. The largest cosmetology show in our state, it also attracts schools from other states to compete.
    • Participating in Remington College’s efforts to give back through the Cuts for Kids and Prom Night Makeover initiatives.
