Dr. John Horn High School wins Remington College "Adopt Our School" VoteSchool wins $2,000 in school supplies from Remington CollegeThe votes are in and Dr. John Horn High School will receive $2,000 worth of school supplies from Remington College-Dallas Campus.Horn High School received the most votes in Remington College's Adopt Our School program, an effort by Remington College to assist local public schools with up to $2,000 worth of school supplies. The winning school was chosen by the public through Facebook and text message voting.The staff at Horn High School has requested four iPad 2's that will be used in classrooms, as well as a digital camera and seven display boards. The iPads will help relieve the shortage of technology equipment in the classrooms. For the class receiving the iPads, half the curriculum is computer-based.The donation comes at a time when Texas public schools are facing billions of dollars of cuts in state funding.The iPads and other items will be delivered to the school this Thursday, August 25 at 11:00 am. The school is located at 3300 E. Cartwright Rd. in Mesquite. Media are invited to cover the event.The goal of the program is to help out public schools in Remington College campus communities at a time when school budgets are very tight."We congratulate Horn High School and are thrilled to be able to provide them with iPads and other educational materials," said Skip Walls, Remington College-Dallas Campus President. "We know all public schools are struggling with their budgets and we're happy to be able to help out one of our local schools."Based in Heathrow, Florida, Remington College is a nonprofit career college that offers diploma and degree programs at 20 campuses throughout the United States.
