    Medical Assistants are healthcare professionals who keep doctor’s offices, clinics, hospitals, and other medical practices moving by performing clinical and administrative tasks.

    Clinical responsibilities include taking vital signs, preparing patients for exams, and instructing patients on treatment procedures. Administrative duties include filing medical records, filling out patients’ insurance forms, and scheduling appointments.

  • Florida Basic X-Ray Machine Operator License Exam

    The Basic X-Ray Machine Operator licensure is offered through the Florida Department of Health (FDH). The State of Florida requires than an individual must be a licensed practitioner or a certificate holder to administer x-ray or other types of ionizing radiation to humans.

    The BXMO is for individuals who have passed the Florida radiologic technology certification exam.

    1. Applicants must first apply for the BXMO through the Florida Department of Health (FDH). Applications are available on the FDH website. Completed applications and application fee must be mailed to:

    2. Once your application has been received and approved by the FDH you will receive a letter of eligibility from the Florida Certification Office.
    3. Approved applicants will need to register for the Florida radiologic technology certification exam with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) on www.staterhc.com. The exam fee and a copy of the eligibility letter received from the Florida Certification Office must be mailed to:

    4. You may obtain your test scores 7-14 days after your examination, and will be available online through the Florida Department of Health. Once you pass the exam, it may take 2 weeks for your license to be processed and updated in the online search database. You may begin working as soon as the online system indicates your license is active, and you will be mailed a printed copy of your license a few days later.

    Exam fee: $100

    Remington College will pay the fees for an active Medical Assisting with X-Ray Tech (Limited Scope) and EKG student’s first attempt at the Basic X-Ray Machine Operator License.
