Ft. Worth Career Services Representative Places 100th Graduate as Professional Pharmacy Technician Contributed by Joy Cornwell, Campus Librarian When Lauren Zimmer became a Remington College Career Services Representative in March 2010, she didn't quite know what to expect but jumped into her role feet first, motivated by her desire to help our graduates find the kinds of career positions they've been hoping for and working toward. Career prospects for our Fort Worth college graduates have been heating up steadily ever since, with Ms. Zimmer recently celebrating a significant milestone: the placement of her 100 th graduate. Ms. Zimmer's "centennial graduate" was Pharmacy Technician and newly hired Walgreens employee Ashley Simpson. "I was thrilled when Lauren left me an email that she had a job lead," said Ashley, adding, "I immediately called Lauren, she submitted my résumé the same day, and I got a phone call to come in and fill out my application. I went on to ace the interview!" Ashley was offered a position as a pharmacy clerk has begun working at a Fort Worth Walgreens location. Ms. Zimmer currently assists Fort Worth students and graduates in the Pharmacy Technician, Medical Assisting, Medical Assisting with X-Ray Tech (Limited Scope) and EKG, and Cosmetology programs. "I love interacting with all types of people. It's just a great feeling to assist someone in what could be the position of a lifetime," said Lauren. Ms. Zimmer is joined by fellow Career Services Representatives Chantel Jones and Emily Foltz at our Fort Worth College. These enthusiastic, talented ladies establish employment contacts in the community, coordinate employment opportunities for our students, and interact with students and graduates on their job searches.
