    Since November 2003, the goal of our Fort Worth Pharmacy Technician school has been to train knowledgeable, well-informed graduates who have the skills and poise to enter the pharmacology field.(1)

  • Fort Worth Pharmacy Technician Training

    As a student in our Fort Worth Pharmacy Tech program, your mock pharmacy training begins during the first module. Within the first two weeks of class, you’ll begin studying the reference materials, and from there you’ll start practicing how to count pills and create prescriptions.

    Later in your studies, you’ll get to practice compounding and filling prescriptions, and you’ll make at least two items most days in class.

    Pharmacy Tech Classrooms and Equipment in Fort Worth

    At our Fort Worth Campus, the Pharmacy Tech program has one combined lab/classroom and two additional labs dedicated to it. The average class size is about 15 to 20 students.

    While enrolled in the program, you’ll get to work with chemicals and compounding agents to create items like ointments, creams, lotions, gels, lip balms, bath salts, facial scrubs, lip gloss, foot scrubs, muscle rub, and more as part of your training.

    What better way to practice valuable pharmacy technician career skills like compounding than by creating compound formulas as a regular part of your in-class labs!(1)

    Connected to the Fort Worth Pharmaceutical Community

    Our Pharmacy Technician school also includes an externship, which lets you apply your skills in real world settings, working side by side with professionals who are actually doing the job. A variety of externship sites – from retail to long-term care, oncology, oncology research, hospitals, and home infusion businesses – work with our students.(2)

    Fort Worth In-Class and Community Activities

    Some recent guest speakers in our Fort Worth Pharmacy Technician school program have included representatives from:

    • The Sickle Cell Association.
    • CVS.
    • Prime Therapeutics.

    Our students have also taken field trips to locations and events such as “The Body Exhibit” at Fair Park in Dallas and a local Walgreens pharmacy.

    Fort Worth-area employers also meet with our Pharmacy Tech instructor team twice a year to contribute their knowledge and help make sure that the program is in tune with employer and industry needs. Their feedback has allowed us to produce graduates who can be valuable assets in the field as pharmacy technicians.(1)

    Fort Worth Pharmacy Tech Instructors
