Donation event set for Saturday, May 7Remington College - Honolulu Campus will hold a Locks of Love donation event on Saturday, May 7. The event will be held on campus at the Paul Brown Institute at Remington College, a registered Locks of Love participant. People can participate through monetary contributions or donations of hair. The first 50 hair donors will receive prizes, raffle prizes will be available and musician Sean Tiwanak will perform. Donated hair is evaluated for its usefulness according to the following guidelines:
Hair donations will be used to create custom-made fitted hairpieces for financially disadvantaged children and young adults who are suffering from hair loss caused by various medical conditions. Most recipients have lost their hair due to an auto-immune condition. Others have suffered severe burns, radiation treatments or any number of dermatological conditions that have caused long-term or permanent hair loss. Hair donors will receive a complimentary cut and style during the event, which runs from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. Appointments are not necessary, but can be made by calling 808-587-8448. Parking is available on Adams Lane and costs $3.25. Remington College-Honolulu Campus is located at 1111 Bishop Street, Suite 400.
