The HVAC Pro Diploma program utilizes hands-on training to teach students the skills to successfully maintain and troubleshoot heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems, including commercial and industrial systems.

Offered at our Memphis, Tennessee campus, the HVAC Professional Diploma program can be completed in as few as 12 months. It provides a curriculum where you have the opportunity to receive professional level HVAC training for residential, commercial and industrial in one program.

Memphis HVAC Pro courses and training focuses on:  

• Residential heating and cooling fundamentals
• Commercial/industrial heating and cooling
• Residential, commercial/industrial refrigeration and freezers

Which HVAC Technician certifications are available in the HVAC Pro Diploma Program?

As a student training in accordance with the national skill standards for HVAC technicians, you can gain hands-on experience by working with demonstration models in our labs. At the same time, you have the opportunity to prepare for Type I, II, III, and Universal EPA HVAC certification testing.

What is the difference between an HVAC Diploma and HVAC Pro Diploma?

The main difference between our 12-month HVAC Professional Diploma program and the standard 9-month program is the additional HVAC commercial and industrial equipment training received.⁽³⁾ 

Where the 9-month program focuses on residential/light commercial heating and cooling fundamentals, the 12-month professional-level program offers those same courses, as well as additional training in commercial and industrial refrigeration and heating systems.⁽³⁾

What can an HVAC Technician do with an HVAC Pro Diploma?

By taking the additional classes for an HVAC Pro Diploma, students may go on to utilize their specialized knowledge and skills to pursue entry-level positions in a variety of industries (both commercial/industrial and residential) such as residential heating and cooling, commercial/industrial heating and cooling, and refrigeration and freezers.⁽¹⁾  

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of heating, air-conditioning, and refrigeration mechanics and installers is projected to increase by 28 percent during the 2008-18 decade, much faster than the average for all occupations.
