    Continuing Demand for HVAC Technicians

    The need for skilled, well-trained heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) technicians is predicted to grow (1) as energy costs rise, policy initiatives evolve, and standards change.   • Remington College-Memphis Campus Offers New HVAC Program

    Diploma program trains students for HVAC jobs 

    Memphis, TN – June 30, 2009 - Remington College-Memphis Campus is now enrolling students for its new Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Diploma Program. The HVAC program is designed to provide students with skills in the fundamentals and practice of the HVAC industry. Students can earn a diploma in as little as 9 months.

    The program covers the industry essentials, including: 

    • HVAC technology, theory and safety
    • Maintenance techniques
    • Motor functions
    • Residential and commercial systems
    • Refrigeration and freezer systems
    • Automated control use, troubleshooting and repair

    Throughout the courses, students will receive training established by the National Skill Standards for HVAC technicians. Students who graduate from the Remington College HVAC program may be qualified for a number of entry-level positions in the field.

    “The HVAC program is a welcome addition to our campus,” said Dr. Lori May, Remington College-Memphis Campus President. “This field has a promising job outlook for the future.”

    According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the job prospects for heating and air- conditioning mechanics and installers are expected to be excellent. As the population and number of buildings continues to grow, so does the demand for HVAC systems. The increasing complexity of HVAC systems as well as the need for replacement will also create opportunities for service technicians.

    Remington College-Memphis Campus offers several degree and diploma programs, including Business Office Management, Criminal Justice, Computer and Network Administration, Electronic and Computer Technology, Cosmetology, Medical Assisting, Medical Insurance and Coding and Pharmacy Technician.
