It takes a special person to be able to inspire and encourage students to push themselves higher every day.

Medical Assisting with X-Ray and EKG Instructor Elisabeth Sewell, and Computer and Network Administration Instructors Jared Parker and Diane Miller, are three such people.

Remington College – Fort Worth Campus recently acknowledged these instructors for the successful retention of all of their students throughout the Remington College 2010-2011 fiscal year.

Perspectives from the Fort Worth Instructors
Ms. Sewell commented, “This experience makes me feel like I’m doing a good job. Also, my students really want to be here, which is a positive thing.” When asked what advice she would give to her fellow instructors, she said, “You have to be as dedicated to your students as you expect them to be committed to their classes. In my class, I promote teamwork, because I think it’s important. If one of my students is struggling, I encourage the class as a whole to step up and help one another. Also, I have an open door policy, and my students know they can come to me if they need to talk.”

Mr. Parker said, “Working a full-time job and coming to school at night is a challenging, wearisome feat. It takes a dedicated student to make that kind of commitment.” He encourages his students to continue reaching for a better future in pursuing a career that they will hopefully enjoy and draw a sense of satisfaction from. “That feeling cannot be beat,” noted Mr. Parker.

Ms. Miller said, “In the past, I’ve had students drop for financial reasons, but every so often you have a student who is simply looking for encouragement. This is when we can remind our students that there is a solid future in front of them if they are willing to do the work and see it through.” Ms. Miller encourages other instructors to get to know their students, ask how they are doing, and spend time talking with them.

Remington College – Fort Worth Campus is proud to recognize these instructors and appreciates their hard work and dedication to their students and their field.
