The Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning Experience at Remington College in Memphis, TN

Subjects of study in our HVAC school include the inner workings of automated and motor controls, ventilation and refrigeration systems, air conditioning systems, domestic appliances, heat pumps, hydronic heating systems, and more.

If you’re someone who performs maintenance, service, repair, or disposal that could release refrigerants (and the chemicals in them) from appliances into the atmosphere, you will be required by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to hold specific certifications to ensure that the refrigerants are handled correctly.

 

Job Outlook *

Commercial and residential building construction is expected to drive employment growth, and job opportunities for HVACR technicians are expected to be good.

The Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Diploma Program provides in-depth training in HVAC systems and demonstrates the hands-on skills needed to successfully maintain and troubleshoot today’s complex heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems, up to and including commercial and industrial systems. It establishes a framework of understanding of environmental issues associated within the HVAC industry and presents theory, diagnostics, and repair procedures. Typical operating conditions, and systematic troubleshooting, maintenance, and installation techniques are also presented. The program includes exposure to indoor air quality standards and discusses various sources of indoor pollution with an emphasis on molds and how to improve indoor air quality.

Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) technicians specialize in the devices that keep houses comfortable, air quality pure and food fresh. From heating systems to refrigerators, HVAC technicians are often in-demand specialists who individuals and businesses turn to for their heating and cooling needs.
