This video is an introduction to Remington College's Medical Billing and Coding Program. If you would like to work in the health care field, but not in direct patient care, then medical insurance and coding may be the career field for you.
When a patient visits a Dr., the Dr.'s office maintains a record of the Dr.'s observations. Later, those observations are handed to the Medical Coder. The coder prepares, organizes and evaluates the documents, making sure they are complete and accurate. Coding specialists are responsible for applying a code for each diagnosis and procedure for insurance billing.
Medical Insurance and Coding(1) Graduate Testimonial
Remington College Medical Insurance and Coding graduate Heather R. says she used to live “paycheck to paycheck,” but now her life is not so hard. She adds, “Going from making minimum wage … to working a beautiful office as an insurance secretary, making quite a bit more, is well worth it.” She says that many medical coders have the option of working from home. She recommends Remington College’s program because it is well structured, and the instructors and staff are very helpful and really motivate students to do their best.
(1)Program is called Medical Insurance and Coding at the following campuses, Remingto college-Nashville Campus and Remington College-Colorado Springs Campus.
