In Remington College’s Medical Laboratory Assistant Program, you can:
- Train in skills that assistants in medical laboratories AND medical offices/clinics utilize.
- Gain hands-on experience through an externship in a medical laboratory or office.

Assist in the Patient Diagnosis Process
Our 12-month(1) program is designed to help prepare you for a career path handling samples in a medical laboratory, performing laboratory analysis with your diagnostic and hematology training, or working with patients to gather samples in medical clinics/offices.
In the medical laboratory, you could be prepared to assist in the diagnosis process by collecting fluid samples and body tissue under the supervision of lab scientists and technologists.
In a medical office/clinic, you could assist physicians in collecting samples from patients. You may also order, care for, and store chemical solutions, cultures, equipment and supplies, as well as make chemical solutions and care for cultures and tissue samples.

Care for Your Patients and Your Work Environment
In addition to learning fundamental laboratory skills, you’ll also have a chance to learn aspects of medical office management and front-office skills, including: scheduling, payment collections and payroll procedures.
