  • Remington College-Mobile Campus Celebrates its 25th Anniversary

Community invited to attend event on Saturday, July 30

Remington College-Mobile Campus invites the public to join in a day of celebration in honor of the campus's 25th Anniversary.

On Saturday, July 30 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. the campus will host a day of family and educational events.

    Activities will include:

    • Visits with local law enforcement, fire and medical workers
    • Family-friendly games
    • Face-painting
    • Safety identification for children
    • Blood-pressure checks
    • Mini-manicures and pedicures
    • Laser gun
    • Video game displays

The campus will also hold a blood drive as part of the Remington College 3 Lives campaign, an effort to raise awareness and increase the number of minority blood donors. Singer AJ Green, the spokesperson for the effort, will hold a short concert at noon. Green has sickle cell disease and shares his story in order to illustrate the need for minority blood donors. Green, 19, has received more than a dozen blood transfusions as part of his treatment. While the focus is on recruiting minority donors, everyone is encouraged to attend the drive and donate blood. All the blood collected will be used to help people in the Mobile area.

"We're proud to have been able to serve the Mobile community for the last 25 years by providing education options and training people for the local workforce," said Stephen Backman, Remington College-Mobile Campus President. "We hope that people will join in our celebration and see what we have to offer."
