Remington College - Nashville Campus Donates $5,000 to Second Harvest Food Bank
Campus also holds food drive to help Nashville families
Remington College - Nashville Campus is helping out the Second Harvest Food Bank with both monetary and food donations.
The campus is donating $5,000 that will be used to fund two Mobile Pantries that serve families in rural communities. The money will provide non-perishable food items, fresh produce, personal care items and household cleaning products to families in need.
“Mobile Pantries are one of the fastest and easiest ways for us to provide food for people outside of the immediate Nashville area,” said Jaynee Day, CEO of Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee. “We appreciate the support of Remington College in helping us to provide not only for the many individuals and families affected by the floods, but also for those in need throughout the year.”
In addition to the monetary donation, Remington College-Nashville Campus is holding a food drive on campus from now through Friday, May 21. The public is encouraged to drop off donations of non-perishable food in the campus lobby, located at 441 Donelson Pike, Suite 150 in Nashville.
On Friday, May 21 at 11:30 a.m., Remington College-Nashville Campus will wrap up the food drive and hold a check presentation with representatives from the Second Harvest Food Bank. The food bank will also pick up donations from the food drive at that time. The event will be held in the campus lobby.
The flood-related donations are just the latest in the partnership between Remington College-Nashville Campus and the Second Harvest Food Bank. The campus has collected more than 2,600 pounds of food for the organization over the past few years.
“The flood waters may be receding, but families will need help for a long time,” said Larry Collins, Remington College - Nashville Campus President. “We’re happy to be a part of the Second Harvest Food Bank’s efforts to help out families in and around the Nashville area.”
