Pharmacy Technician Graduate Testimonial

Amy G., a Remington College Pharmacy Technician graduate, explains that she was struggling to be a good provider as a parent, noticed our commercials, and decided to enroll. She also talks about the tremendous sense of pride and accomplishment that she and her entire family felt when she graduated. She appreciated, in particular, the level of support provided by her instructors. “My future now is going to be great,” says Amy. “I have a great job, and my two girls are going to have the best life I can provide for them.”

Pharmacy Technician Program Overview Video

The program overview explains that pharmacy technicians are responsible for preparing prescribed medications, counting tablets, mixing and measuring liquids, and labeling medicinal bottles. Administrative duties are also a part of this job, such as creating and maintaining patient profiles, filing insurance forms, and taking medication inventories. Jason Womack, an instructor at Remington College’s campus in Dallas, Texas, says that the field is constantly changing and that career opportunities for graduates abound. The program’s hands-on training enables students to not only see what is happening but also practice the procedures themselves. The final portion of the program is an externship, in which students have the chance to work side-by-side with a licensed pharmacist. Cleveland, Cleveland West, Dallas, and North Houston Campus facilities are featured.

Pharmacy Technician Instructor Testimonial

Ann Vance, Program Chairperson and Pharmacy Technician instructor at our Dallas Campus, has about 15 years of pharmacy experience and has seen changes in her field. “Pharmacy technicians these days are doing more than refills,” explains Ms. Vance. “More responsibility has been put on us as pharmacy technicians,” she adds. She likes to show students how to do the job not only safely, effectively, and professionally but also compassionately, because a key part of the job is working with and helping patients. “A certificate or diploma is great, but a job – a career – a paycheck in your pocket – that’s awesome.” Ms. Vance believes that Remington College really prepares students for today’s job market, adding that the rewards of seeing a student gain confidence and go on to succeed in the field is “amazing” and serves as a reminder the tremendous impact that learning can make on someone’s life.
