Corporate office employees in Heathrow, Florida, came together to take a stand
in the fight against cancer at the American Cancer Society’s 2011 Relay For
Life, held on Friday, May 6, 2011, at the Central Florida Zoo and Botanical
Gardens, in Sanford, Florida.

Remington College Receives National Partner of the Year Award from America’s Blood Centers
Remington College has been selected as the first recipient of America’s Blood Centers’ National Partner of the Year Award. The award, presented at ABC’s Awards of Excellence banquet on March 21, recognizes Remington College for its 3 Lives blood drive campaign,
an effort to raise awareness of the need for minority blood donors, as
well as collect blood on each Remington College campus. The program is
called 3 Lives because three lives may be saved for every one pint of
blood collected.

Remington College sent more than 3,000 students back to school looking and feeling their best this summer. The career college provided complimentary back to school hair cuts at the thirteen Remington College campuses with cosmetology departments.

Remington College - Mobile Campus Raises Money for Oil Spill Cleanup Efforts
Remington College-Mobile Campus is doing its part to try and help with Gulf oil spill cleanup efforts. Remington College-Mobile Campus collected money donations from staff and students to use towards relief efforts. In addition, Remington Administrative Services, Inc. have matched the amount the students collected. In total, $360 will be given to Mobile Baykeeper, a local organization coordinating volunteers to help in the efforts.

Remington College will offer complimentary back-to-school haircuts for children this summer. The annual Cuts for Kids event will take place on 11 Remington College campuses with cosmetology programs.

Schools competed for up to $2,000 worth of school supplies of their choice, courtesy of Remington College. Any public school in a Remington College campus market was eligible to compete.

The United States Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) recently identified 20 jobs that are expected to grow rapidly between 2008 and 2018, including computer network systems analysts, medical assistants, physical therapist assistants, dental assistants and hygienists.

The Cosmetology program teaches students the art of hair, skin and nail care through traditional classroom instruction and hands-on training in the 'Remington School of Cosmetology', which allows students the opportunity to work with real clients.
