Remington College Provides Education for Some of Today's Fastest-Growing Jobs

  • Heathrow, Fla. – (March 19, 2010) – Remington College offers several programs that can provide students with the education they need to qualify for some of today’s fastest-growing jobs—without spending four years in college.

The United States Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) recently identified 20 jobs that are expected to grow rapidly between 2008 and 2018, including computer network systems analysts, medical assistants, physical therapist assistants, dental assistants and hygienists.(1)

Remington College offers degree or diploma programs for many of those industries at several of its physical campus locations. They include:

Computer and Network Administration Associate's Degree Program. This program provides hands-on training and instruction in how to install, configure, maintain and support local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), Internet systems and wireless configurations. Students can also acquire up to six Microsoft certifications. The program is offered at 11 Remington College campuses.

Medical Assisting Diploma Program. According to the BLS, medical assisting is a profession on the rise, and this program may help prepare students for a career in the growing health care field. The program covers patient care, laboratory procedures, therapeutic care and medical insurance and bookkeeping – and can be completed in as few as eight months, nine months in South Carolina. Eligible students can take part in an externship and learn directly from doctors and nurses.(2)

Physical Therapist Assistant Program. Located at the Cleveland West Campus, this 18-month Associate’s Degree program(3) is designed to help prepare students to practice as physical therapy assistants under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist. Instruction covers treatment techniques, testing and measurement techniques, patient communication and ethics.

Dental Assisting Diploma Program. This program can be completed in as little as eight months and includes training that may help students qualify for an entry-level position as a dental assistant. The program is available at the Cleveland West, Fort Worth, Houston Southeast, North Houston, Nashville and Tampa campuses.

Dental Hygiene Associate’s Degree Program. Located at the Nashville Campus, students can complete this associate’s degree program in as few as 18 months. Instruction covers oral health, hygiene, dental hygiene instrumentation skills, anatomy, oral radiology, local anesthesia techniques and more.

While no reputable college can guarantee employment after graduation, every Remington College campus has a Career Services Department to assist graduates with their job search, resume preparation and interviewing skills.
