Precise and proficient setup work by four Shreveport Campus Electronic Technology student volunteers literally served as a foundation for the success of the recent Regional Mini-Urban Challenge Robotics Competition, held the weekend of January 29, 2010, in Bossier City.
LEGO City Completed Track: The contest, sponsored by the Institute of Navigation, the Air Force Research Laboratory and Bossier’s Cyber Innovation Center, featured 20 teams from high schools throughout Arkansas, Louisiana, and Texas.
The teams navigated their robotic cars through the 20-by-20-foot Lego® “city” set up by our Remington College students.
“It was a good opportunity to meet some people in the industry and to pitch in and help ensure the success of this civic event, and our students enjoyed themselves and felt good about their contribution,” stated Becky Currier, Shreveport Campus Director of Career Services.
