As a student, you begin training in clinical medical assistant settings during the first module of our diploma program.(2) You assume the roles of patient and medical assistant in your labs to get a feel for the work from both sides. We work with you to help build your skills throughout the program, teaching you about medical assisting procedures and the medical field. Our program lets you learn to work with medical equipment like centrifuges, simulators, spirometers, nebulizers, audioscopes, otoscopes, opthalmoscopes, hydrocollators, paraffin baths, ear wash systems, eye wash stations, microscopes, hemoglobin A1C analyzers, diabetic analyzers, CPR/AED trainers, and more. You spend the last part of the program in an in-field externship, training on the job alongside healthcare professionals so you can see what it's like in an actual job setting.(3) Shreveport Medical Assistant CertificationIncluded in the cost of tuition is the first attempt of the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) exam.
