1098-T IRS TAX FORM

The 1098-T is an informational form that is available to students at the end of January to assist you, the taxpayer, in determining if you are eligible to claim tax credits such as the American Opportunity, Hope or the Lifetime Learning Credit for educational expenses.

What is the 1098-T form?

The 1098-T is an informational form that is available to students at the end of January to assist you, the taxpayer, in determining if you are eligible to claim tax credits such as the American Opportunity, Hope or the Lifetime Learning Credit for educational expenses.

Who should receive a 1098-T?

A student who has any payments, including Federal Financial Aid, agency payments, student payments, and scholarships received by Remington College that have a transaction date between January 1st and December 31st of the previous year recorded on your student ledger should receive at 1098-T for that previous year. If you do not have any of these transactions recorded on your ledger for the previous year, you will not receive a 1098-T.

What student account information is included on a 1098-T?

We report all payments, adjustments to payments, and refunds that were recorded on your student ledger in the reporting calendar year.

Can Remington College fax my 1098-T to me?

We do not fax or overnight 1098-Ts.

Where can I get my student payment or loan payment information?

Student payments made to the campus are recorded on your student ledger. You can view your student ledger on the student portal. You will need to contact your lender regarding any payments made directly to your lender on student loans from third parties.

Can you advise me how to use the 1098-T when filing my taxes.

PRINTING YOUR 1098-T IRS TAX FORM

Remington College provides you with access to your IRS 1098-T tax reporting form. You may print the form from this link. If your printer supports it, you may ‘print’ to a PDF document and save it.

On the menu bar on the left side of your homepage, click ‘My Finances’ and then click ‘View 1098T’.

Print Your 1098-T

If your 1098-T document has been processed (usually by mid-January) you will see a link for the 1098T document that you have available. Click the link to print the document.
