FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is the 1098-T form?

The 1098-T is an informational form that is available to students at the end of January to assist you, the taxpayer, in determining if you are eligible to claim tax credits such as the American Opportunity, Hope or the Lifetime Learning Credit for educational expenses.

Who should receive a 2018 1098-T?

A student that has any payments, including Federal Financial Aid, agency payments, student payments and scholarships, received by Remington that have a transaction date between 1/1/18 and 12/31/18 recorded on your student ledger should receive a 2018 1098-T.  If you do not have any of these transactions recorded in 2018, you will not receive a 2018 1098-T.  Transactions recorded in a prior year would be on the prior year’s 1098-T.

What student account information is included on a 1098-T?

We report all payments, adjustments to payments, and refunds that were recorded on your student ledger in the reporting calendar year.

Can Remington College fax my 1098-T to me?

We do not fax or overnight 1098-Ts.

Where can I get my student payment or loan payment information?

Student payments made to the campus are recorded on your student ledger. You can view your student ledger on the student portal. You will need to contact your lender regarding any payments made directly to your lender on student loans from third parties.
