Introduction to Psychology
The Industrial Mechanics and Automated Systems Associate of Applied Science Degree Program provides training in techniques that are accepted among today's high-technological, computer based manufacturing/robotic environments and enables students to acquire skills with electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic/pneumatic devices and computer-assisted robotic and manufacturing processes. The curriculum also covers how to set up and operate conventional machine tools and programs, as well as how to test, troubleshoot, and repair the electromechanical components of an automated manufacturing system. Students learn the theory and application of mechatronics, pneumatics, and hydraulics and build a strong understanding of electricity, physics, and safety standards as regulated by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). The objective of this Program is to prepare graduates for entry-level industrial mechanic positions in work locations such as high-tech, computer-based manufacturing companies and robotic-controlled industrial environments. This Program requires completion of a minimum of 92 credit hours, including any transfer credits that have been accepted. Program completion normally requires 18 months for full-time students. The Industrial Mechanics and Automated Systems Associate of Applied Science Degree Program is divided into six three-month quarters, which are delivered in a hybrid format. Some courses are delivered residentially and some courses are delivered via distance education (i.e., on-line). Upon successful completion of all areas of this Program, graduates will be awarded an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Industrial Mechanics and Automated Systems.
