    Medical Assisting Diploma

    Healthy Medical Assisting Career Outlook

    According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), "Job seekers who want to work as a medical assistant should find excellent job prospects" since this field is expected to grow much faster than average from 2008 to 2018.(4)

    The BLS adds, "Medical assistants with formal training or experience - particularly those with certification - should have the best job opportunities, since employers generally prefer to hire these workers."(4)

    Remington College offers several ways to "upgrade" your Medical Assisting training with additional educational routes that can expand both your education and potential career options.(1) 

    X-Ray Tech (Limited Scope) & EKG

    Depending on your campus location, you can opt for the 12-month Medical Assisting with X-Ray Tech (Limited Scope) and EKG coursework.(5)

    In addition to Medical Assistant training, you will study the operation of X-ray equipment as well as how to position and work with patients in examination, develop X-rays, and use EKG technology to test and measure a patient’s heart-rate.     Medical Laboratory Assistant

    Laboratory assistants play a hands-on role in a medical laboratory. If you’re at our Lafayette, Louisiana campus, this 12-month program can net you a Medical Assistant Diploma with training in medical laboratory work.(5)

    In addition to Medical Assisting training, you will study collecting and examining samples under the supervision of instructors with experience in laboratory settings, as well as order, make, care for, and store chemical solutions, cultures, equipment and supplies.
