Can you earn a degree in hospitality management online?
These days, it can feel like things are moving faster and people’s lives are busier. Whether you’re working long hours, working multiple jobs, or taking care of a family, finding the time to go back to school or even change career paths can seem inconceivable. But one benefit of the increase of technology is the chance to earn a degree online.
More than ever, employers are hiring candidates with an online degree.1 Even so, you might not think certain degrees are offered online, like those with lab components or those that heavily involve customer service, like hospitality management.
But the short answer is this: You can earn a degree in hospitality management online.
Lodging managers typically ensure company standards for guest service, décor and housekeeping are met; keep track of how much money the hotel is making; monitor staff performance to ensure guests are happy; and more. It’s a growing field. From 2016 to 2026 lodging management is expected to grow 4 percent, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.2
In order to become a lodging manager, you will likely need either a bachelor’s degree in hospitality or hotel management, an associate’s degree in hotel management or a high school diploma and several years’ experience.1
At Remington College, you can earn an associate degree through our hospitality degree program—and you can do it online.
The Restaurant, Hospitality and Retail Management degree curriculum includes courses such as:
